Roger Coburn

Roger Coburn, age 74, of Oak Hill, formerly of Columbus, went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2020 at his home.  He was born Sept. 25, 1945 in South Webster to Chester and Oma (Green) Coburn.  He graduated from South Webster High School in 1963 and soon after served in the Army.

Roger worked regionally with Heidelberg USA, where he worked as a service representative for many years.  He worked part-time for several years as a janitor for Oak Hill High School.  Roger enjoyed going to estate sales, auctions, raising cattle, was an avid Buckeye fan, and was a member of Minford Bible Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Coburn; son, Derrick Coburn (Scott Varner) of Columbus; step-children, Larry (Carol) Raike of Malta, NY, Carrie (Doug) Heyman of Toledo; five step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; brother, Chester Coburn and his special friend, Pam of Franklin Furnace; three sisters, Opal Lahrmer of Oak Hill, Janet Snyder of Oak Hill, and Brenda Young of Mims, FL. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Coburn, and a sister, Irene Edwards.   

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Minford Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Brett McGraw officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.  Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.  Fond memories and expressions of condolence may be shared at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com
