Robert Neal “Bob” Humphreys

Robert Neal “Bob” Humphreys, age 85, of Jackson went to his heavenly home Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, after an extended illness. He was born March 26, 1935 in Coalton, Ohio to the late Jerry and Katherine Christian.

Bob was a 1955 graduate of Jackson High School where he played basketball and football. Upon graduation, he served his country in the United States Navy and then returned home to work at the JISCO Furnace and eventually at the Piketon Atomic Plant. Bob loved to work; he was a gifted painter and woodworker which lead him to go into business for himself. He was of the Christian faith and loved to sing Christian songs; he was always praying for people.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Karen Lynn Brunton Humphreys; daughter: Kelli (Shawn) McGhee; grandchildren: Noah and Jonah McGhee; special nephew: Jerry (Madeline) Humphreys; and his special furry companions: Peanut and Coco.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Chad Humphreys and 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with his nephew, Kevin Humphreys officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 from 5 p.m. up to the time of the funeral at 7.
