Robert Gary McFarland, age 71, of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. He was born on Sept. 22, 1946 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Keith and Mary (Leach) McFarland. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: David, Greg and Randy McFarland.
Robert is survived by his best friend and soulmate, Rita Lois (Erwin) Howell; children: Robert S. (Beth Ann) McFarland, Amber M. McFarland and Aaron T. (Rebecca) Howell; grandchildren: Ethan McFarland, Nathaniel (Pauline) Howell and Jessica Howell, along with a great-grandchild, Kayden Howell. A brother, Keith McFarland, also survives.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the VFW. He loved to golf, hunt, fish and use his metal detector.
Friends will be received at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, March 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery with military services provided by Jackson Chapter 45 of the DAV.
