Robert “Bob” Lee Whitt, age 74, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at Holzer of Jackson. He was born Sept. 22, 1943 in Firebrick, Ohio to the late Walter and Nora (Brofford) Whitt.
Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Davis Whitt; his children: Julia (Ronnie) Johnson and Angie (Mike) Hill; grandchildren: Lacie (Brandon) Stumbo, Brooklyn and Angel Hill, Katelyn, Christopher, and Blayke Whitt; and great-grandchildren: Gunner Shephard and Alaina Gillam; sister, Elizabeth Whitt; and brother, Bill (Beverly) Whitt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son whom they lost in November of last year, Christopher Moses Whitt; and sisters: Bonnie Ireland, Frances Brock, and Geneva Cooper.
Bob worked for many years at 50 Division Hayes-Albion in Bryan, Ohio and Goodyear/Meridian in Jackson, Ohio until he retired. He enjoyed sitting outside in his swing and taking rides over the old hill in his truck.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Staiger officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
