Philip Patrick Wood, age 73, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. He was born on Oct. 13, 1946 in Ironton, Ohio to the late Adam and Elnora (Gallion) Wood.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Anne (Boylan) Wood; his son, Christopher Michael Wood; and his brothers: Michael (Linda) Wood, Mark Wood, and Bryan (Vicky) Wood. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Joseph M. Wood, Clay (Jiaqi) Wood, Andrew Wood, Catie Wood, Jackson Wood, Brett (Kristin) Boylan, Luke and Olivia, Brandon (Kara) Schrinner, and their daughter, Charlotte.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force Vietnam theater retired. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Class of 1972.
Phil was a loving husband and father; a kind soul who made everyone laugh and he never met a stranger. He was an avid member of the Columbus Table Tennis Club (25 years), volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels (13 years) and he enjoyed archery, fishing, woodworking, gardening, traveling and being outdoors.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Nic Ventura officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Jackson.
