By | December 15, 2020

On Dec. 14, 2020 at the age of 89,  went to be with the Lord due to COVID complications at Four Winds Nursing Home.  She was a resident in the Apple Ridge Alzheimer’s Unit for two years.  In the two years it became her home.  The staff loved and cared for her like she was one of their own.

Pauline Mae (Sharp) Mayse was born April 15, 1931 to Erman and Mamie Louella Sharp in Jackson, Ohio.  On Sept. 18, 1953 she was united with Brownie Mayse.  In the 37 years of marriage they had three children: Terry (Debbie) Mayse, Kathy (Dave) Sparks and Tami (Phil) Taylor.  She was blessed with five grandchildren: Kathy Lynn (Kelly) Mayse, Jeffrey (Chelsea) Mayse, Tonya (Mike) Burton, Kayla Taylor and Samantha (Randy) Fulks; 10 great-grandchildren: Brittany, Lexi, Caden, C.J., Dalton, Abby, Tucker, Lyla, Cody and Corey; and she was blessed with four great-great-grandchildren: Avel, Isabela, Elaina and coming soon Leo Campos.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents: Erman and Mamie Louella Sharp; her loving husband, Brownie Mayse; brothers:  William Arthur, June, Bobby Dean and Nelson; great-granddaughter, Emma Faye Taylor; five brothers-in-law: Charles Perkins, Glen Crabtree, Carl Wyatt, Billy Robinson and Doyle Rose; sisters-in-law: Sissy Marie, Virgie, and Adlee Rose; very special friend for 21 years, Tom Hargett.  She leaves behind four sisters: Minnie Perkins, Jackie Wyatt, Lillian Crabtree and Wanda Robinson; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Mayse; and leaves several nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted wife for 37 years and a wonderful mother and sister. She loved the Lord, and was a member for 75+ years of the Jackson First Church of the Nazarene.  She was involved with the Women’s Ministries for several years.  When they needed a program planned they would always get her involved with it.  She was very patriotic.  She was known for her Minnie Pearl shows for local nursing homes, churches and reunions.  She loved to paint pictures; her favorite was snow scenes.  She loved to write poems, and played the piano.  She would say “what do you want to hear?” and it was her favorite song, “It Had to be You” and then “I Love You Because.”  She loved the good old Gospel songs.

Thank you, Four Winds staff, for the awesome job you did taking care of our loved one.
