Paul “Peanut” Dillon, Sr.

Paul “Peanut” Dillon Sr., age 90, passed away April 26, 2020 at Sage Park in Columbus, Ohio. He was born Dec. 31, 1929 in Blackfork, Ohio to the late Mildred (Snyder) and Paul Dillon.

He is survived by his children: Paul Jr. (Kim) Dillon, Jerry (Angie) Dillon, and Lori (Dillon) Beal; grandchildren: Sarah, Ryan, Jerry Jr., Chad, Andrew, Alyssa, Holly, and Paige; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, David Dillon; sister, Connie Watson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Wilma (Adkins) Dillon; brothers, Clyde and Carl Dillon; and sisters, Vivian McCormick and Linda Walters.

Paul graduated from Waterloo High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. After his commitment to the Navy, he returned home and met Wilma. They married on Nov. 20, 1955 and moved to Columbus, Ohio.

Paul worked numerous jobs but had a long career at General Motors as a machinist/tool and dye. Upon retiring he and Wilma moved back to Oak Hill for about seven years but ultimately returned to Columbus to live the remainder of their lives.

Through the years Paul was a volunteer coach for the children’s little league sports. He was a coach and a mentor to many. He never missed a sporting event involving his children. He loved all sports, but especially loved the Cincinnati Reds. Paul was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed camping trips with the family.

He was a loving husband, father, and papaw and will be greatly missed… Always smiling, always, whistling, always singing a tune.

The family would like to thank Sage Park and Kindred Hospice for their kind and loving treatment.
