Patricia “Lanelle” Landrum

Patricia “LaNelle” Landrum, age 74, of Jackson, passed away Friday morning, December 26, 2014, at the Four Winds Community in Jackson, Ohio. She was born January 2, 1940 in Canton, Mississippi, to the late James Woodrow Palmer and Edna Lofton Palmer.

LaNelle graduated from McKell High School in Greenup County, Kentucky. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Morehead University and received a Master’s degree in education from the Ohio University. LaNelle retired as a teacher for the Wellston City Schools, where she taught for over 30 years. She was a member of the Jackson County Retired Teachers Association and a member of World Outreach Ministries, where she formerly enjoyed singing in the choir. LaNelle was a past member of the Hope United Methodist Church, where she was director of the children’s choir. She was a former piano teacher, and at one time, she taught band in the Wellston City Schools.

LaNelle is survived by her four daughters, Nancy Ellen Landrum of Chicago, Anna Jane Landrum of Jackson, Mary Kathryn Dailey of Jackson and Patricia Gale Johnson of Jackson, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, LaNelle was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Wayne Palmer.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Ervin and Carmen Cline officiating. In keeping with LaNelle’s wishes, cremation will follow the service.
