Patricia F. “Patty” Haynes, age 63, of Coalton, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Hamden Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born February 16, 1955 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Chester Gilliland and Louise Fern Kearins Gilliland. Patty was a 1973 graduate of Wellston High School.
She was a loving homemaker who was also a former door greeter at Walmart. Patty, a very intellectual person, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and growing flowers in her yard. In years past, Patty attended the First Baptist Church in Wellston.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Everett “Ernie” Haynes; son and daughter-in-law, Sherman Wayne and Melissa Crabtree of McArthur; niece and nephew who was raised in the home, Ashley Clark of Columbus and Ryan Clark of Coalton; brothers, Wayne Gilliland of Chillicothe and Richard “Dick” Gilliland (Robin) of Chillicothe, along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet “Sue” Gilliland Clark.
In keeping with Patty’s wishes, her body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Patty’s memory to the DAV Jackson County Chapter 45; 170 Pearl Street; Jackson, Ohio 45640.
