Opal Jean (Hubbard) Sharp

Opal Jean (Hubbard) Sharp, age 85, of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born June 13, 1930 in Prestonsburg, KY to the late Clyde and Inez (Eddington) Hubbard.

Opal is survived by her son, Kenny (Shirley) Sharp, of Thurman; daughters, Karen (Lloyd) Fry, of Thurman, Margaret (Ronnie) Floyd, of Jackson and Teresa (Paul) Floyd, of Thurman; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Bascum Hubbard, of Wellston and Gary (Norma) Hubbard, of Granbury TX; two sisters, Hazel (Ted) Dumm, of Stoutsville, OH, Betty (Ronnie) Halley, of Sumter SC and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Edwin Sharp and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Jim McCloud officiating. Burial will follow in Vega Cemetery.
