Norman Wesley Clagg

Norman Wesley Clagg went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 2, 2020.  He was born on May 26, 1946, in South Webster, Ohio, to Calvin and Darlene Clagg.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Clarence Clagg; and his daughter, Kristin Copas. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edith (Fields) Clagg; his son, Richard (Stacey) Clagg; three grandchildren, Kayleigh Wallin, Patrick Trotter, and Wesley Clagg; one sister, Thelma Jenkins; two brothers, Ronald (Betsy) Clagg and Robert (Rosie) Clagg; many other extended family members, and countless friends.

Norman was a veteran of Vietnam, serving from 1965 to 1967 at Cam Ranh Bay.  At the conclusion of his tour, he returned home where he married his wife Edith on Oct. 21, 1967.  They later adopted their two children in 1970 and 1973, respectively, and settled down in Jackson County, living in South Webster, Oak Hill, and Jackson during his lifetime.

Norman was born again at the Wheelersburg Church of the Nazarene in 1977 and continued to serve the Lord throughout the remainder of his life.  He was a member of Fire Church in Wellston at the time of his passing.

Due to health concerns and state restrictions as a result of COVID-19, no showing will be scheduled.  The family will have a small in-person ceremony at Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio, on Dec. 11, 2020 at 11 a.m.  The ceremony will be streamed on Facebook Live so that other family members and friends will be able to pay their respects.  Pastor David Collins will officiate the ceremony.  At the conclusion of the ceremony, a graveside service with military honors will be held at South Webster Cemetery in South Webster, Ohio.
