Norma Mae White

Norma Mae White, age 75, left this world to be with her Savior on May 13, 2017 at her home in Jackson, Ohio surrounded by grace and her loved ones.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Carl Edwin White Jr. of Jackson, Ohio; sons: Carl William (Becky) White of Jackson, Ohio and Penn Edwin (Stacy) White, all of Jackson, Ohio; daughter, Kelli Stiltner of Hamptonville, North Carolina; and very special great-granddaughter, Riley Harter; sisters: Pat Campbell and Pam Steele, both of Jackson, Ohio; brother, Bob Steele of Chillicothe, Ohio; and sisters-in-law, Sandra Arthur Steele, Annie Steele, and Kay Gilliland.

Norma was treasured by the following grandchildren: Ryan Stiltner, Sara (Allen) Pope, Bethany White, Trevor (Jessica) White, and Evann White; her beloved great-grandchildren: Elliot and Jaden Pope, Caleb Southern, Brayden Stiltner, and Terry Reneger; and she was also beloved by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Norma in death were her parents, Bill and Glenna Steele; grandparents, Gus and Minnie Steele and Jacob and Bertha Rapp; and brothers: Dr. Bill “Bub” Steele and Jim “Yogi” Steele.

Norma was a proud graduate of the Jackson High School Class of 1960 and maintained many close friendships from the group throughout her life. As a young mother, Norma was a charter member of the GTO Mother’s Club (Get Together Often) and faithfully attended Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church until her relatively short illness. Norma was an original employee of Merillat, retiring in 2004, and continued to be a devoted friend to those with whom she had worked.

Norma’s joys in life were her faith, family, and countless friends. Recent months found her observing the beautiful birds outside her window and uplifting others with phone calls, heartfelt personal notes and encouraging cards. She cared deeply about everyone she met and never forgot them. The lives Norma White blessed will carry a piece of her heart with them always. Her amazing life of grace, joy, and love is complete and she is at peace with her Lord.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Andrew Christman officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
