Mona Mae Leach Dobbins

Mona Mae Leach Dobbins, age 90, of Jackson, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born Feb. 10, 1929 in Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late Dallas Gerald Leach, Sr. and Sarah Augusta (Wills) Leach.

Mona graduated from Washington Township School with the Class of 1947 and was a 1952 graduate of Rio Grande University. She retired from the Frick-Gallagher Company in Wellston, where she was employed for 31 years as a data processor. Mona was a lifelong, faithful member of the Wellston Church of the Nazarene, where she attended since the age of four. While attending the church, she filled the capacity of Sunday school teacher for 57 of those years and was the acting treasurer for 45 years.

Mona is survived by her brothers, Dallas Leach, Jr. (Carolyn) of Wellston and Dewey Leach (Lucretia) of Grove City; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Leach and Delores Leach, both of Wellston; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for her devoted neighbors and caregivers, Lula and Alan Jones of Jackson.

Besides her parents, Mona was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Dobbins; brothers, Franklin Leach, Robert Leach, and Clarence “Rooster” Leach; sisters, Helen Salts (Lawrence) and Virgilene Shook (Fred); and infant siblings, John and Jackson.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 31 at 11 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Wellston. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson.
