Michael Lee “Mike” Yelton, Sr., age 40, of Jackson, died Friday, March 11, 2016, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. He was born February 16, 1976 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to Robert Alan Yelton and Vickie Jean Morris Yelton.
Mike was employed as a tree trimmer for the City of Jackson. He enjoyed working, kayaking and riding his motorcycle.
Mike is survived by his mother, Vickie Morris of Springfield; his wife of 22 years, Cheri Craft Yelton; children, Michael Lee Yelton, Jr. (Haley Ratliff) of Jackson and Shaelyn Louise Yelton of Jackson; brother, Rob Yelton (Heather) of Millersport; sisters, Michelle Davis of Florida, Linda Yelton of Florida and Kelly Roth of Columbus; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Kathy Craft of Jackson, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including good friends, Ron and Trina Mullins of Jackson.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Bob Yelton, and his daughter, Tori Yelton.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating.
