May Frances Howard Hickman, age 86 of Jackson, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in South Shore, Kentucky on February 1, 1929 to the late Barbary Arnett and Grover Cleveland Howard.
She is survived by a brother, William Andrew Howard, and a sister, Vergie (Charles) Adkins, several nephews and nieces, along with a very special friend, Kathy Hollback.
Besides her parents, May was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; brothers: Belva, Solmon, Buggess, Daniel Boone, Charles Edward and Stanley Ray; and sisters: Ada Howard, Eva Gene, Sadie, Ruth Christina and Wonda Faye.
May was a member of the Trinity Chapel Church. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, ceramics and crafts.
Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Herman Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Hickman Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015.
