Mary Lynn McMann Vititoe, age 82, went home to her Lord and Savior on Christmas Eve 2016. She got to spend her first Christmas with her mother since she was two years old.

Mary Lynn was blessed with a beautiful extended family, and a circle of friends that never let her down. She was born Aug. 15, 1934 to parents, Marjorie and R. Bruce McMann. After the death of her mother, Mary Lynn was raised by her grandparents, Grace and Clarence Rapp of Jackson, Ohio. She was raised in Jackson, Ohio where she owned and operated the Upper Crust Restaurant before moving to South Florida in 1988, where she retired from her work career before returning back to Jackson in 1998.

Active in local community efforts, Mary Lynn was a proud member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she served as treasurer, with the Altar Guild, and cared for the Communion vestments. She was also a member of the Southern Hills Arts Council, President and Vice-President of the Food Program and Clothesline of Jackson County; active in the Project Giveaway Program for the Lutheran Church; Fine Arts Club; Century Club; Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper; Homemakers Club of Jackson County; and the WELCA women’s group at Faith Lutheran Church, Jackson. She and her best friend Phyllis Michael also taught art classes at Four Winds.

Strong in her faith, she is now in eternal rest and happiness where she will watch over all of us as we move on in this Earthly life without her.

Surviving are her three children: Mary Jane Vititoe Rippel (husband, Brad) of Bolivar, Ohio; Sam Vititoe (wife, Heidi Wallace) of Jackson, Ohio; Mike Vititoe (wife, Deleta Williams) of Boynton Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren: Ryan Stafford, Amanda Vititoe, Mike Vititoe, Sammy Vititoe, Jessica Rippel Donehue, Kyle Vititoe, and Tyler Rippel; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce B. McMann; and sister, Vicki McMann Anderson.

In addition to children and grandchildren, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her life-long friend, Phyllis Michael; as well as her caregiver, Thelma Harrison.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Eleanor Beatty McMann; and aunt and uncle, Delmar and Mick Rapp Sheward of Jackson, Ohio.

The family will receive friends for calling hours on Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. Private family services for committal to her eternal rest will take place at a later date.
