Mary Jane Nichols

Mary Jane Nichols, age 59, of Ray, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019. She was born in Oak Hill, Ohio on Feb. 15, 1960 to the late Marvin J. Sickles and Doris (Terry) Gifford, who survives.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sons: William E. “Nicky” Nichols II and Paul J. Nichols. Also preceding her in death were two brothers: Vernon Cash and Ira “Joey” Sickles.

In addition to her mother, Mary Jane is survived by her husband, William E. Nichols; a son, Jonathon Stafford; a daughter, Sarah E. Stafford (Kegan Humphreys); and a grandson, Jacob Edward Hamilton. Also surviving are two brothers: Terry (Phyllis) Cash and William Fisher (Betty Tolliver); and two sisters: Kathy (Bill) Henderson and Cheryl Sickles, along with several nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane had lived in Jackson County all of her life. She enjoyed her children, grandson, and her little farm with the chickens. She was the number 1 Cincinnati Reds fan.

Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23 with Pastor Todd Barlow officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 22 from 4 to 8 p.m.
