Martha A. “Pat” Adams

Martha A. “Pat” Adams, age 84, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at her home. She was born Aug. 20, 1932 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Luther D. Pittenger and Nellie Bartoe Pittenger.

In addition to being a seamstress, Pat was a talented musician. She loved going around to area nursing homes and churches, singing and playing the organ and piano for the glory of God. Pat’s life was centered around her love of God, her family and music.

She is survived by her children, Carson Dwane Adams of Miami, Oh., Leslie Lee Adams of Cincinnati, and Lucretia Lynn Lowe (Randy) of Hamden; sister, Penny Graham of Chicago, Ill.; brother, Ernie Pittenger of Cincinnati; as well as eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Carson “Gene” Adams in 2008; son, Robert Wayne Haney; daughter-in-law, Susie Adams; brother, Bob Pittenger; sister Christine Jividen, and one great-granddaughter.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Eberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
