Marshall Kent Figgins

Marshall Kent Figgins, 64, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He was born October 25, 1950 to Glenna (Winston) Figgins and the late Ivan Figgins.

Marshall was a life-time resident of Blackfork. He came to know the Lord at an early age, and was baptized and became a member of the Union Baptist Church.

He was a 1968 graduate of Oak Hill High School. In the year 1970, Marshall joined the United States Armed Forces. On July 8, 1978, Marshall married Lillian Keels; together they had one son, Thomas Kent Figgins. They have several grandchildren; Jerod, Mariah, Emma, and Braden, whom he loved very much.

For many years, he was employed with the Atomic Plant in Piketon. Having health problems in 2012, he was unable to continue working. Although having health problems, he kept his pleasant personality and had a smile for everyone. He enjoyed being around his family and friends, and also enjoyed sports and watching old movies.

Left to mourn is his wife, Lillian; son, Thomas; mother, Glenna Figgins; brother, Steven (Ella) Figgins; two sisters, Barbara Lansford and Jackie Figgins; his grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marshall will be missed by everyone.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 25, from 5-8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio. A service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
