Margaret Ann “Margie” McCumber, age 76, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born August 10, 1938 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late William Fair and Robin Hollingshead Scharfenberger.
Margie was a former dental assistant for both Dr. John Butler and Dr. Joe Essman, for a combined total of over 40 years. She was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston.
Margie is survived by her daughter, Kim McCumber McGowan of Athens; sisters, Jean Howe of Wellston and Billie Starkey of Florida; half-sister, Jere Scharfenberger Deck of Wellston, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit “Mac” McCumber and her son, Skippy McCumber.
