Mae Brenner

Mae Brenner, age 89, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Four Winds Community. She was born July 11, 1923 in New Boston, Ohio, the daughter of the late Everett Elmer Sims and Edna Etta Brooks Sims.

Mae was a former employee for various dry cleaning businesses in the area. She formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Wellston and was a member of the Wellston Wranglers. Mae was past president and member of the Four Winds Community residents’ council; a member of the Four Winds Red Hat Ladies Club, where she was know as the “Queen Bee” (President), and was proud of having the honor of being named the 2011 Four Winds Community Queen.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marlene Brenner of Wellston; grandchildren, Tom Brenner, John Brenner, Mary Williams and Christopher Brenner, all of Wellston, as well as nine great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband, William Dowayne Brenner; son, John Brenner, sister, Helen Dixon and brothers, Jack Sims, William Sims, Roderick Sims, David Sims, Harry Sims, Charles Sims and Jim Sims.

Calling hours were set for Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Father Donald Maroon officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.
