Madelene Burton

Madelene Burton, age 91, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 at Holzer of Gallipolis. She was born Oct. 10, 1928 in Greenup, Kentucky to the late Goble and Elizabeth (Frazier) Jordan. She was the oldest living member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and was a woman of very strong faith.

Madelene is survived by her children: Joyce Kathleen (Arnold) Dawson, Kenneth Burton, Carl Burton, and Dwayne Burton; grandchildren: Casey Dawson, and Kenny, Michael, Josh, Beth, DJ, Bobby, and Walker Burton; great-grandchildren: Brady Dawson, Haley, Brooke, Amber, Lydia, Desiree, and Ashley Burton, Moriah and Brittany Hall, and Amber, Weston, and Addison Burton; brother, Russell (Jeanie) Jordan; nephew, Willie; and nieces, Helen and Amy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Burton; infant son, Cecil Burton; and daughter-in-law, Darlene Burton.

The family would like to extend thanks to Tonya Adams, Elaine Brohard, Toccara Brown, Ashley Burton, and Erica Oiler for being good friends and helping take care of Madelene.

Public graveside services will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Horeb Cemetery. Per CDC guidelines and governor recommendations, everyone is asked to practice proper social distancing procedures. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
