M. Irene (Denney) Adams, age 87, was greeted in Heaven with open arms on the evening of January 4, 2014. She was born the sixth of nine children on March 21, 1926 to the late Fred and Katherine (Scurlock) Denney.
Irene was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Before retiring she worked as a nurse and was a member of The Rock Family Worship Center.
Irene is survived by her eight children, Michael (Sharon) Thomas, Dee (Bill) Perkins, Mel Thomas, Susie Yates, Dr. Brian (Karen) Adams, Anna Anderson, Donna (Dick) Nichols, and Sharon Carvelho; 123 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours for Irene were to be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Rock Full Gospel Church. The funeral, also being held at The Rock, will be on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. with her son, Dr. Brian Adams officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at Pattonsville Cemetery.
