Lyla Rose (Hall) Sickles, 78, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away January 12, 2022. She was born February 10, 1943, in Wellston, Ohio to the late Harry Hall and Rhoda Reed.
She is survived by her husband James Harmen Sickles; her sons: Paul (Cindy) Sickles, James (Tracy) Sickles and Ronnie (JoAnna) Sickles, all of Jackson, Ohio. Also surviving are a sister, Emma (Randall) Strunk of Fairfield, Ohio; sister, Elaine (James) Collins of Felicity, Ohio; a sister, Barbara (Earl) of Wellston, Ohio; and a sister, Brenda (Jesse) Loose of Cincinnati, Ohio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Lyla was preceded in death by her stepfather, Vernon Christian; a great grandchild, Jason Doles; and a daughter, Ronda Hansgen.
Lyla enjoyed driving a school bus for many years. She also enjoyed retirement, cooking, cuddling with her dogs, singing in church and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Benson and Pastor Harley Howard officiating, with burial to follow in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery.
