Louise (Hankey) Dixon

(Anna) Louise Johnson (Hankey) Dixon, 90, of Taft Street, Jackson, Ohio, passed away December 21, 2012, at Jenkins Memorial Health Facility.

Born November 12, 1922, in Jackson, she was the daughter of the late Otto Edward and Marie Chapman Johnson. She was a 1940 graduate of Jackson High School, after which she worked in Dayton, Ohio, as a stenographer for the Civil Service, and in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, during WW II. She ultimately retired, after many years of service as a secretary, from The Ohio State University Extension Service.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Cheney of Shreveport, LA, and Susie Fields of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and the following grandchildren: Lisa Bennett Culbertson, Kathryn Bennett Suarez, Caleb Fields, and Corey Fields. She is also survived by step-daughters Shirley Corwin of Pataskala, Ohio, and Nancy Brown of Leesburg, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Hankey and Thomas Dixon; all of her five siblings, sisters, Verna Earlene Martin, Helen Cassano, and Dorothy White; brothers, Scott and Charles Johnson; and one daughter, Barbara Hankey.

Louise was a member of the Jackson Baptist Temple.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home with burial to follow in Buckeye Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, December 28, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.e-k-lewisfuneral.com.
