Lisa A. Gilliland (Skeans) ended her 53 years on earth and started her journey with Jesus on July 25, 2020. Lisa was born on July 5, 1967 to the late George and Viola Skeans (Tilley) in Oak Hill, Ohio.

Lisa worked at Spectrum Outreach in Jackson, Ohio as an addiction counselor. One of Lisa’s greatest joys in life was helping people. Even after her death, Lisa continued to help people. She was an organ donor. As she closed her eyes to this world, she made it possible for two other people to see the beauty in the world. Lisa’s other hobbies were reading her Stephen King books when she was not spending time with her grandchildren. They brought her joy that could not be explained.

Lisa married Joseph Gilliland, Jr. on Aug. 25, 2003. They did not have any children together but between the two of them, they blended a family of four girls and one boy. From those children they were blessed with 17 grandchildren.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Gilliland, Jr. of 17 years; her four daughters, Kera (Jeff) Cutlip,  Kyra (Chris) Rowland, Karmen, Kandrell and step son, Dyllon (Breanna);  her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Liam, Marshall, Gunner, Iris, Triston, Tylain, Jayce, Corey, Leighanna, Kyleigh, Zoey, Tate, Daxton, Brayden, Bentley and Shelby; her brother, George and sister, Cheryl (Dean); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Viola Skeans (Tilley); her sister, Becky (Jerry) Jonasson; and her brothers, Robert (Vicki) Skeans, Mark (Rhonda) Skeans and Tony Skeans.

Funeral arrangements will be provided by Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio.
