Linda Lue (Barker) Nelson, age 65, of McArthur, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 12, 1950 in Halcom, Ky. She was the daughter of the late James Harvey Barker and Mary Alice (Sparks) Barker. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 48 years, Raymond (Bud) Nelson. Linda was so very blessed to have lived, laughed and loved with so many and so much throughout her lifetime.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Tina Duff and Tonia (David) Walker; sons, Howard (Sonia) Bowen and Alan (Melinda) Stevens; grandchildren, Christina (Tony) Nelson, Hope Duff, and Alex Walker; great-grandchildren, Gavin McCarty, Arabella Duff and Jaxson Duff; siblings, Ray (Marcella) Barker, Ruth Pennington, Johnny (Velma) Barker, Ruby Barker-Woods and two special dogs, Boomer and Abby; sister-in-law, Linda Marcum; George (Elsie) Nelson and Gracie (Charlie) Arthurs; many special nieces, nephews and other beloved family members and special friends, Gerri Carter, Tom and Linda Starr and Sue Keith.
Besides her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her siblings, Ples Barker, Bert Barker, Blanche Laney, Mary Faye Lawson, Erma Ison, mother-in-law Martha (Salyers) Nelson, and sister-in-law Joby (Nelson) Bowen; and son-in-law, Jeff Duff.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio with Howard Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 11, from 2 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m. Condolences can be emailed to the family at www.mayhew-brownfuneralhome.com
