Letha (Rigsby) Prater, age 90, of Jackson, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 13, 2017, at Edgewood Manor in Wellston. Letha was born April 11, 1927 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to Floyd and Netta (Phipps) Rigsby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wiley Prater; three children: David, Danny and Carolyn Sue; sister, Luna Jenkins and brothers: Earl, Harlan and Wayne.
Letha was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and sister. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children: Larry Prater (Margo Mapes), Jimmy (Debby) Prater; grandchildren: Shannon (Rob) Spriggs, Shane Prater, Michael Prater, Bethany Davies, Jaren Prater and Matthew (Jennilyn) Prater; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Murray and Irene Conley and brother, Marvin Rigsby.
Friends will be received at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Thursday, Nov. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., where funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. with Elder Arvil Murray and Elder Jeffrey Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Ridge Cemetery.
