Leonard J. Holsinger, Sr.

Leonard J. Holsinger, Sr., 80, of West B. Street, Wellston, Ohio, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his home.

He was born September 1, 1935 in Lucasville, Ohio, the son of the late William McKinley Holsinger and Anna Ellen (Allen) Holsinger. On December 24, 1960, Leonard was united in marriage to Velma Ilene (Detillion) Holsinger who preceded him in death Saturday, February 7, 2009.

Surviving are his loving companion, Bonnie K. (Martin) Dozer of Wellston, Ohio, daughter, Brenda Landaeta of Waverly, Ohio, son, Leonard James Holsinger, Jr., and wife Linda of Peebles, Ohio; three grandchildren, Josh Spencer, Holly Gee and husband Sonny and Jonathon Baldwin; two great-grandchildren, Sophia Gee and Hudson Gee; a sister, Ruth Wilkins of Virginia; three brothers, William Holsinger of Lucasville, Ohio, Dale Holsinger of Pickerington, Ohio and Tim Holsinger of Kentucky; three step-children, Sharon Chaney and husband Dave of Hamden, Ohio, Debra Walker and husband Joseph of Lancaster, Ohio and Tamela Mikesell and husband Scott of Cummings, Washington; five step-grandchildren, Heather Chaney, Sabrina Cline and husband Frank, Chad Sorrell, Nathan Hedges and Jonathon Hedges; and two step great-grandchildren, Derek Chaney and Mason Cline.

Leonard was a construction foreman and a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly, Ohio with Rev. James Spencer, officiating. Burial will follow in Givens Chapel Cemetery, Givens, Ohio.

Family will receive friends at the Boyer Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until the time of service on Wednesday.
