Larry David Dunn, age 83, of Oak Hill, went to his eternal home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was born January 30, 1938, in Oak Hill to the late Edwin W. Dunn and Cordelia A. (Jenkins) Dunn.
Larry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois (York) Dunn; and daughter, Christa Dunn Jayjohn, both of Oak Hill; Jared (Amanda) Dunn, of Huron, Ohio; daughters-in-law: Kelly Dunn and Marilyn Dunn; grandchildren: Joshua, Jeremiah, Mark, Stefani, Kyle, Sean, Amy, Andi, Joel, Jordan, Brice, Blake and Reece; many great grandchildren; siblings: Marsha Walton and Paul Dunn; and numerous other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons: Steven Dunn and Jeffrey Dunn; son-in-law, Jody Jayjohn; grandson, Jason Dunn; sisters: Janice Moore, Kay Dillon, Peggy Blair and Betty Osborne; brothers: Ronald “Ronnie,” Edwin “Eddie” and William “Bill” Dunn.
Larry graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1958. He went off to work on the gas pipeline in several different states before returning home to marry his high school sweetheart, Lois, later in 1958. Larry and Lois built a farm in Oak Hill in 1974. He was a hard worker; he had a wonderful work ethic owning and operating L&L Construction. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022, at C.M. Cemetery with Reverend Herman Stewart officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com. In lieu of flowers, the family will be honoring Larry’s memory with a permanent memorial item to be placed at Aetna Park. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to go towards the memorial item at Aetna Park.
