Kent Kessler

By | June 8, 2021

Kent “Geek” Kessler, 55, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, from cancer, in the home he helped his parents build in Oak Hill.

Kent had a huge heart and loved his family dearly.  He found joy in nature, watching old westerns, his mom’s fried chicken and hanging out with his buddy, Robert. He was an amazing sketch artist. He could use a pencil like a magician. He had an ability to bring a blank page to life, drawing anything from animals to sci-fi fantasy.  Kent loved listening to bluegrass music, often driving his mom and dad crazy, as he would shout at their “Alexa” to play his favorite bluegrass tunes.  There is no doubt Kent’s spirit will be dancing “buck necked” in the moonlight, listening to Merle Haggard sing, “No more darkness, no more night, now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight.”

Kent was preceded in death by his loving mother, Linda Kay Maddux Kessler and his son, Zachary Michael Kessler.

Survivors include his father, Lauris Kessler; a brother, Kevin Kessler; a niece, Kristin Kessler Murray; nephew-in-law, Anthony Murray; great nieces, Madeline and Alaina and his dog, Pup.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or service.
