Kathleen “Kay” Canter, age 76, of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Siena Gardens in Cincinnati. She was born October 18, 1944 in Jackson to the late Charles Hughes and Florence (Whaley) Hughes.
She is survived by her children: Tony Canter (Melody), of Jackson, Bobbi (Jimmy) Iricks, of Betsy Lane, KY, Larry Canter, of Maytown, KY, William (Chantelle) Canter, of Cincinnati; Howard (Linda) Whaley, Roger Leroy Hughes, Bill (Tamara) Hughes, Jane Roark, Betty Malone, Roseanne (Kenneth) Music, Charles (Donna) Hughes, and Thomas Hughes; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hank Canter.
Kay worked at WalMart in Jackson for several years. She adored her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson. She was an avid reader, she loved Bingo, NASCAR, watching criminal shows and she loved going to church.
Friends may call Monday, April 19, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Coalton, OH. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
