Karen Ann Wyant Childers, age 64 of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born February 27, 1950 in Jackson to the late David Robert Wyant and Alice Freda Whaley Wyant Waugh. Besides her parents, her brother, Henry Dale Wyant, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Lora (Rick) Smith of Jackson; brothers Mark Anthony Waugh and Aaron Waugh of Jackson; sister, Paula Dodridge of Jackson; grandchildren David Allen Smith and Christopher Michael Smith, along with several nieces and nephews.
Karen was a substitute teacher in Jackson and Vinton Counties, a Head-Start teacher in Wellston and enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and sewing.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson, with Reverend Dobie Wyant officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
