Judy Kay Hollingshead Hughes

Judy Kay Hollingshead Hughes, age 67, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 at her home. She was born Sept. 10, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Clarence Lawson Hollingshead and Ella Mae Sprouse Hollingshead.

Judy was a 1969 graduate of West High School in Columbus and also a graduate of Hocking Technical College, where she earned a degree in Criminal Justice. Judy was employed at Piggly Wiggly in Oak Hill. She was a member of the Jackson Baptist Temple and she loved just spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Demetras Parsons of Jackson; grandchildren, Clarissa Hollingshead, Chasity Parsons and Luci Parsons, all of Jackson; sister, Wanda Robertson of Cummings, Ga.; brothers, Jerry Hollingshead of Columbus and Ted Hollingshead of Ray, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hughes; brothers, Bill, Bob, Dink, Don, Ray and Gene Hollingshead; and sisters, Dorothy Allen, Betty Wholaver, and Cindy Saltsman.

In keeping with Judy’s wishes, her body was cremated. Memorial service and burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
