Juanita J. Forshey

Juanita J. Forshey, age 85, of Jackson, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home on Sunday, July 21, 2019.  She was born May 8, 1934 in Jackson, to the late Ernest and Statia (Bowman) Henderson. 

She is survived by her children: sons, Ernest (Tina) Forshey of Jackson, John (Janet) Forshey of Jackson, Dale (Terri) Forshey of Wellston and daughter, Sharon (Gary) Stabler of Wellston; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jake Forshey; and siblings, Kenneth Henderson and Audrey Martin. 

Juanita graduated from Jackson High School in 1952.  She then raised her family and then started at Franklin school as a teacher’s aide; and then went on to college at Rio Grande and obtained her teacher’s certification.  She then went on to receive her Master’s degree in education in Cincinnati. She and her late husband Jake spent a lot of time on the farm and were very active in the Farm Bureau.  She was a member of the Jackson County Cattlemen’s Association and a former 4-H Advisor. 

Friends may call Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
