Joyce “Rosie” Danver

Joyce Rosalie “Rosie” Danver, age 83, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 2nd, 2022. She was born November 18, 1938, in Wellston, Ohio to the late Della and Franklin Canter.

Joyce was a graduate of Jackson High School. She spent most of her time watching hummingbirds, tending to her flowerbeds and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting in her free time and was adored by many friends and family members. Joyce was a strong and independent woman who was there to help anyone in their time of need. Joyce retired after working thirty-six years at the pants factory.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Pete) Feeney; son, Dale “Buzz” (Brenda) Danver, III; grandson, Casey (Jackie) Stiffler; granddaughter, Erika (Anthony) Sheets; granddaughter, Sabrina Scurlock; great-granddaughter, Kennedy (Derek) Stiffler; great-grandson, Cannon Stiffler; great-grandson, Noah Sheppard; and niece, Kelly (Steve) Landrum. Preceding her in death was her husband, Dale “Jug” Danver; grandson, Christopher David Stiffler; her parents: Della Leach and Franklin Canter; her stepdad, Russell Leach; her grandmother, Jessie Malone; and her three brothers: Michael Canter, David Leach and Russell Leach, Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 7th, 2022, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson and again on Friday, April 8th, 2022, from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Erskine officiating.
