John L. (Jack) Copas, Sr.

John L. (Jack) Copas, Sr., age 75, of Jackson, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Kobacker House in Columbus. He was born in Jackson, February 6, 1941 to the late Leslie and Grace (Peyatt) Copas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Doris (Williams) Copas of Jackson; children Shannon and Ron Robinson of Chillicothe, John and Terrie Copas of Grove City, Brandy and Jim Hamanaka of Wellston, Toni Copas of Wellston, Tonya and Robert Lorenzen of Jackson; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother Raymond Copas, Sr., sister Faye Humphreys, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Marilyn (Sissy) Runkle and Barbara Rowland.

Jack retired from General Motors after 26 years of devoted service. He served in the United Sates Army. He was a devoted, loving husband and father.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Pastor Larry Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Wellston with military graveside services provided by the Disabled American Veterans and the United States Army.
