Joan Ann Michael, age 56, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. She was born April 28, 1958 in Nelsonville, Ohio.
She was a devout member of the Grace United Methodist Church. She co-owned and operated Michael’s Ice Cream since 2001.
She is survived by her husband of twenty years Thomas Michael; step-daughters, Meeka (Kevin) Mohler of Wellston, Ohio; grandchildren, Jasmyne Mohler and Isabella Mohler; and sisters, Jane Hughes, and Jill Byler.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jean Hawk; and sister, Jodi Leach.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Eagle officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
