Janet Topping

Janet Topping lost her short battle with COVID on December 24th, surrounded by her loving her family.

Janet was born on March 12, 1941, to Charles and Ernestine Brown in Jackson, Ohio. She is survived by her son, Brian (Jocelyn) Topping of Newark, Ohio; daughter, Kim Mikesell of Pataskala, Ohio; grandson, Nick from Blacklick, Ohio; and numerous family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Topping, in 2007.

Janet retired from JC Penney Outlet and Groveport Public Schools at the ripe old age of 78, where she served as a bus monitor! Janet was full of spunk, never holding back what she thought. There was nothing she wouldn’t try if it was within her capability (even with severe scoliosis and arthritis) and loved life. She enjoyed going zip lining in 2013, driving the gator with her friend Jean around Brian’s property, loved going out to eat and to the casinos with friend Mary and others who she used to work with. But there was nothing she loved more than her family and her dog Bettis!

Due to COVID, the family will not be having a funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you play Janet’s favorite lottery numbers of 3169 or buy a scratch-off for yourself, having good luck as she did often, and smile thinking of her.
