Janet Paulette Brown

Janet Paulette Brown, age 75, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021.  She was born Feb. 5, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Paul Eugene Coppock and Lola Mae (Oiler) Coppock.

Janet was employed with the Jackson City Schools and retired from there.  She drove a school bus for 28 years, and worked as a cook and aide for 20 years.  Janet was the owner of Brown’s Fitness and Tanning for 30 years.  Janet loved going dancing, going to garage sales, taking trips, visiting people in the nursing home and working with children.

Janet is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Arthur Brown; two children: Pamela Sue Bowling of Jackson and James Johnson Brown (Dawn) of Jackson; sister, Sharon Fisher (Larry) of Frankfort; three grandchildren: Walter Albert of Wellston, Taeylor Brown of Athens and Miranda Eggers (Joey) of Jackson; two great-grandchildren: James Austin Albert of Jackson and Ricky Alert of Wellston, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Eugene Coppock and Lola Mae (Oiler) Coppock; a brother, Paul Eugene Coppock Jr.; and a sister, Charlotte (Coppock) Staten.

Calling hours will be at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m.  Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021 at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
