By | July 5, 2019

Janet Jones Allison, age 97, died on June 29, 2019 at the Forum at Knightsbridge due to natural causes. Janet was born in May, 1922 in East Fultonham, Ohio to Clinton and Bessie Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Morgan L. Allison; their son, Thomas J. Allison; and her sister, Eloise Jones Drake.

She is survived by children, Susan (Tim) Brady of Anchorage, Alaska; Nancy (Bill) Walsh of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and son, Steve (Sara) Allison of Spring Lake, Michigan; as well as eight grandsons and seven great-grandchildren. She greatly loved her nine nieces and her nephew.

She will be laid to rest at C. M. Cemetery in Oak Hill, Ohio next to her beloved husband, Morgan Allison, in a private family ceremony at a future date. As a teenager, she was a Princess in the Jackson County Apple Festival. She graduated in 1940 from Oak Hill High School and became a RN at White Cross Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was a 62-year member of Worthington United Methodist Church and its Deborah Circle. She was a member of the Franklin County Republican Party and was a Franklin County election worker.

She traveled the world with her husband and to visit her family. She loved The Ohio State University, bowling, needlepoint, bridge, reading, traveling, and golfing. She was rightfully proud of her hole-in-one at Brookside Country Club and of catching a sailfish larger than her husband’s fish. She is loved by her family for her humor, joyful outlook, cheerful willingness to help whenever and wherever needed, care and love. She was a giving, loyal friend.

The family is very grateful for the loving care provided her by the staff and caregivers of the Forum at Knightsbridge from independent living, assisted living and long-term care; and the wonderful caregivers of Wesley Hospice, Compassionate Caregivers Homecare, and Comfort Keepers for their tender care.
