Janet Joanne Keenan, age 75, passed away Tuesday, May 24th, 2022. She was born September 25th, 1946, in Jackson, Ohio to the late Albert and Sarah (Jacobs) Hutchison.
Janet is survived by her sisters: Sharon Needham of Oak Hill, Ohio and Ruth-Annalee Wallace of Michigan; nieces: Angela (Doug) Butts and Annette (Earl) Thomas; nephews: Bryan (Nichole) Wallace, Allan (Rachel) Wallace, Myron (Tracey) Jones; former husband, Mike Keenan; stepson, Maynard Keenan; several great-nieces and nephews; and her companion, Dane McCarthy of Athens, Ohio.
She was a 1964 graduate of Jackson High School and a 1969 graduate of Ohio University. She worked as a public high school Spanish teacher in Michigan until her retirement. In 2002, after her retirement, she returned to Athens to be near her family.
A celebration of life for her immediate family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ohio Health Hospice, 444 W Union Street, Suite C, Athens, OH 45701.
