James Robert Lowe

James Robert Lowe, age 78 of Wellston, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Holzer Medical Center – Jackson ER. He was born in Williamson, West Virginia on November 24, 1937, to the late James Bailey and Victoria (McGuire) Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the couple that raised him, George and Minnie Hensley, and his first wife, Geneva (Stepp) Lowe.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (Browning) Lowe; a son, James Edward Lowe; daughters: Barbara Sue Parsons, Betty Ann Fisher, Melinda Gale Logan and Alice Fay Walker; two brothers: Richard Lowe and Gene Aders; a half-brother, Buddy Pinson and a half-sister, Gladys Pinson. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

James was a truck driver who primarily hauled coal out of Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Community Church, 5104 State Route 93, Oak Hill, Ohio with Rev. Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow at the Stump Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 2 hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
