James “Jimbo” Jacob Howling

James “Jimbo” Jacob Howling, age 49, of Jackson, passed away due to a semi-truck accident on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 in Long Bottom, Ohio.  He was born on July 2, 1970 in Ypsilanti, MI to the late Eleanor and Alfred Howling. 

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Mellina (Quesenberry) Howling; daughter, Selena (Johnathan) Bachtel; step son, Seth Sheets; sister, Jenny Brewer and brother, Alfred Howling.  He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Becky and Curt Hughes and many good friends and his beloved dog “Bash”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Jacob Mathew Howling; and siblings, Juanita Mullins, Joseph Howling and Mark Howling.

James was a semi-truck driver for the last 12 years and went by the nickname of “Squirt” and currently worked for Chapman Paving Co.  He was a devoted husband, father and friend to many.  He loved Michigan football and could be heard screaming every time they scored a touchdown.  He gave his life to the Lord in 2016 and was recently baptized.  He attended Liberty Christian Center. 

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 at the Liberty Christian Center at 7 p.m. with Pastor Burley Muncy officiating.  Friends may call Wednesday at the church from 4 to 7 p.m.  Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
