James C. “Jim” Jones, age 97, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019 at Four Winds Community. Jim was born Jan. 13, 1922 to the late Clyde Jones and Lillian Jones Williams.
Jim attended Ohio State University for four years and then was a fighter pilot on the U.S.S. Wasp during WW II. After the war, Jim was employed by Varian Association in Palo Alto, California. Jim was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Oak Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Jones; five children: Jamie, of Chicago, Illinois, Paul and David, both of Columbus, Ohio, Kevin and Linda, both of Oak Hill, Ohio; stepdaughter, Susan Conley (David) Massie; stepson, Rick (Pam) Conley; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Zikas; stepfather, Ross Williams; and stepson, John Conley.
Friends may call Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 with Rev.
