J. Fredelene Wagoner

By | February 25, 2020

J. Fredelene Wagoner, 91, of Jackson, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at the Four Winds Community in Jackson. She was born on Jan. 15, 1929, in Jackson County, Ohio, daughter of the late Wesley and Evelyn (Denney) Farley.

Fredelene was a very talented individual who played and taught guitar, sewed, and embroidered. Many of these artful skills were passed on to her children. She enjoyed what seems to be the now “ancient art” of handwriting and had many pen pals across the country. A feisty but gentle spirit, Fredelene was quite generous. She never had much but was always willing to give to others who may have needed something more. Never placing stock in materialistic goods, she enjoyed the finer and simpler things in life such as her cats, dog, daughters, and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Lucinda Kessler, Marcia Kessler, Kathy Nino, Andrea Kessler Schoonmaker, Raye Angel-Riley, and Lenoir Huston; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Perry, Emogene Cahoon, and Verna Perry; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matt Wagoner in 1982; a brother, Jim Farley; as well as two grandchildren, Christopher Michael Grates and Katherine Nichole Browning.

A funeral service celebrating Fredelene’s life will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, with Pastor Fred Crabtree and Father Donald Maroon officiating. Burial will follow in the Pattonsville Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m.
