Goldie Elaine Crabtree

Goldie Elaine Crabtree, age 81, died on Monday, January 25 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. She was born on the 18th of August, 1934, the second of five children born to Cecil P. Corvin and Dorothy M. (Marks) Corvin.

She had a rural upbringing south of Oak Hill, Ohio and graduated Oak Hill High School, Class of 1952. For six years following graduation she lived in Dayton where she was employed by the United States government at Wright-Patterson AFB, rising to the grade of G-7. She returned to Oak Hill in 1958 upon her marriage to Charles H. (Chuck) Crabtree and there made her home for the rest of her life.

Elaine (as she usually preferred to be called) was active in the Eastern Star and the Ohio Federated Women’s Clubs. One of her principle loves was travel. Over the course of her life she visited Egypt, Greece, Italy, France, England, Spain, Morocco and Mexico, as well as many destinations within the United States.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Nard Dean and Ronald, her sister Janet Kay Crabtree, and her best friend, Patricia (Pat) Tope. Surviving are her brother Robert Earl of Canyon City, CA, her husband, and her only child, Douglas.
