Gloria Faye Perkins, age 80, of Wellston, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, from Edgewood Manor in Wellston.  She was born June 19, 1939 in McGuffey, Ohio to the late Clayton and Thelma Sturgell Jordan.

Gloria graduated from McArthur High School with the Class of 1957. She was a former sales clerk for several local businesses in Wellston, including Winkler’s Shoe Store, Perdue’s Five and Dime, Sundry and News, and Moore’s Store.

Gloria was a godly woman whose faith and belief in God came first in her life.  She never failed to witness to others or offer a prayer on their behalf. Gloria enjoyed listening to her scanner, visiting with family and friends and spending time with her grandsons.  She attended New Covenant Worship Center.

Gloria is survived by her son, P.J. Perkins (Shawna) of Wellston; grandsons, Jordan Perkins and Kristofer “KB” Perkins; brothers, Greg Jordan of West Portsmouth and Jeff Jordan of Jackson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. “Red” Perkins in 1994; and sisters, Karen Steel and Sandy McCarty.

In keeping with Gloria’s wishes, her body was cremated.  Family will receive friends at a visitation on Sunday, March 1, 2020, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the family for Gloria’s grandson’s traveling sports events, which meant the world to her.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
