Frances L. McGowan, age 95, of Oak Hill passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Holzer Assisted Living in Jackson. She was born March 21, 1921 in Oak Hill, to the late Albert and Pauline (Clark) Kuhn.
She is survived by her children, Joann Sprouse, of Akron, Mary (Clarence) McGlone, of South Webster, Peggy McGowan, of Jackson, Jerel (Sandy) McGowan, of Jackson and Tami Lester, of Oak Hill. Also surviving are grandchildren, Chuck and J.R. Sprouse, Kelley McGlone, Denise Sexton, Josh McGlone, Jeff and Jason Wolford, Zach and Coty Lester, Craig and Shane McGowan and Stephanie Long, 15 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and siblings, Shirley Sheline, Marilyn Gray, Dean, Richard and Dave Kuhn, Jeannie Mullins and Ruthie Dyer.
In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, John C. McGowan and siblings, Howard Kuhn, Elsie Howard, Denver Kuhn, Rachel Kitchen and Donald Kuhn.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery.
