Evelyn “Dot” Wetzel Huffman

Evelyn “Dot” Wetzel Huffman, age 88, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012, at her place of residence in Wellston, Ohio. She was born in Weeksburry, Kentucky on December 6, 1923, daughter of the late Frank and Lydia Jennings Wetzel. She married her husband, John Owen Huffman on Nov. 1, 1941.

Evelyn was a faithful member of the Church of God; her faith was a very important part of her life. She was always available for a friend in need. Evelyn owned Huffman’s Greenhouse and Garden. Evelyn dedicated her life to her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by four daughters, Carol (Robert) Coleman of Wellston, Becky Henderson of Wellston, Janice Jones of Jackson, Karen (Maurice) Helmic of Wellston, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Walton, Juanita Johnson and one brother, Frank Wetzel.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Nov. 11 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home, with the funeral service there on Monday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m., with Pastor Russ Strange officiating.
